Que es la medalla de San Benito, su significado y para que sirve?

La medalla de San Benito es una medalla sacramental cristiana que contiene iconografía relacionada con san Benito de Nursia. Es usada por practicantes o creyentes católicos, anglicanos, metodistas y ortodoxos de occidente.
Es una de las medallas más antiguas de la cristiandad, de Jesús y se atribuye poder contra el mal a quien la porta.
Una cara de la medalla presenta una imagen de Benito de Nursia rodeando a la imagen con el texto siguiente: Eius in obitu nostro (nro) præsentia muniamur!: “A la hora de nuestra muerte seamos protegidos por su presencia”
La otra cara de la medalla tiene, entre otras cosas, las iniciales de la frase Vade retro satana, una fórmula católica de origen medieval que deriva de una frase que según el Evangelio de Marcos (8:33) fue pronunciada por Jesús de Nazaret.

The medal of Saint Benedict is a Christian sacramental medal that contains iconography related to Saint Benedict of Nursia. It is used by Catholic, Anglican, Methodist and Orthodox believers in the West.
It is one of the oldest medals of Christianity, of Jesus and is attributed to the wearer of it power against evil.
One side of the medal presents an image of Benedict of Nursia surrounding the image with the following text: Eius in obitu nostro (nro) præsentia muniamur!: “At the hour of our death let us be protected by his presence”
The other side of the medal has, among other things, the initials of the phrase Vade retro satana, a Catholic formula of medieval origin that derives from a phrase that according to the Gospel of Mark (8:33) was pronounced by Jesus of Nazareth.
